Akon is one hard working guy. After announcing that he would like to build his own ‘Wakanda’ in Senegal and is launching his own cryptocurrency, Akon sets to now help bring solar powered light to Sierra Leone.

Promising 5,000 solar-powered streetlights and 2,500 traffic lights to support Sierra Leone’s electrification agenda, the rapper / philanthropist looks to work with the country’s new president, Julius Maada Bio to get this completed.

When it comes to helping the growth of African countries, Akon has introduced his Lighting Africa project in 2016 as he looks to light up all of Africa with solar energy.

Our main focus is to be able to change the perception of black men in the world as well as create a community of black men who are willing and wanting to be leaders for the future. We look to do this by focusing on the problems we never discuss that pertains to the mental health of black boys and men. Nothing can change, if we don't change our mindsets.
