Bell Mountain: Most Beautiful View In Georgia
Why it’s Perfect for a Proposal: Bell Mountain is located in Hiawassee, Georgia and is definitely the most beautiful view in Georgia. Overlooking Lake Chatuge and delivering a 360 degree view of Hiawassee. This location will sweep her off her feet even before you pop the question. The good thing about this location is no hiking is needed. You can drive to the top to enjoy spectacular views.
My wife and I love staying in Hiawassee for a quick get away from Atlanta if needed as it is a 2 hour drive away. Anytime we are in the area, we take the 10 – 15 drive to the top of Bell Mountain. Once at the top, you have an observation deck that you can take the stairs to the top to feel like you’re at the top of the world.
Best Proposal Spot: Once at the top of the Mountain, I would go to the top of the observation deck and go to your left. On this side, it will give you a 360 degree view of Hiawassee, plus Lake Chatuga as your backdrop. If you want to make it more wonderful than it already is. Make sure to propose in the middle of October. Around that time, the leaves start to change colors. Make for a magical location and amazing pictures. Plus if you start to get nervous the cool weather will keep you cool as a cucumber.
Toccoa Falls: 186 Feet High Waterfall
Why it’s Perfect for a Proposal: If you would like to just park your car, pay a very small entry fee and have an even smaller walk to an amazing view as a backdrop? Toccoa Falls is the exact place you’re looking for. With a 186 feet high waterfall, this will for certain get that “yes” you are looking for. Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest (taller than Niagara Falls) freefalling waterfalls east of the Mississippi.
Located on the Toccoa Falls College campus, Toccoa Falls is only a third of a mile walk away from the parking lot. To get to the waterfall, you have to go through the college’s gift shop. Pay a $2 entry fee. Then, you can enjoy the waterfall as long as you like.
Best Proposal Spot: If I was to propose to my wife again, this would be one of the best places to do that in Georgia. The place to propose here would be on the rocks right below the waterfall. This will give any photographer a great range to capture any photos needed while proposal. It also allows them to see the entire waterfall. This is one boulder specifically that is perfect for a couple to stand on. It allows for a photograph to capture the moment. Also it’s far enough away that you won’t get soaked while pouring your heart out.
Proposing while surrounded by Georgia’s natural beauty is a magical way to begin the next chapter of your love story. Whether you’re looking for the thrill of Tallulah Gorge, the peaceful serenity of Cloudland Canyon, or the sweeping mountain views from Blood Mountain, Georgia offers hiking trails that are perfect for a romantic and unforgettable proposal.
