With already having a stake in the English soccer team Liverpool Football Club, Lebron James now becomes part owner of the MLB team the Boston Red Sox. Becoming part-owner of the team through its parent company, Fenway Sports Group along with the private investment group RedBird Capital Partners and James’ business partner Maverick Carter. Seems like Lebron is definitely on the verge of being the world’s 8th African-American Billionaire.
Fenway Sports Group confirmed this information with NBC10 which said the moves would need to be approved by Major League Baseball.
This partnership also may be in the works to expand Fenway Sports Group which is led by billionaire John Henry. Expantion is looking to go into NESN cable channel, a marketing arm, a real estate firm and Roush Fenway Racing, along with the Red Sox and Liverpool.
