Marietta 12-Year-Old Set To Go To Georgia Tech in the Fall

For many of us at the age of 12, we were just getting adjusted to having these things called lockers while entering middle school. Well not Caleb Anderson. At the age of 12, Caleb already has BIG dreams and is making them a reality as he is already bound to start at Georgia Tech in the Fall of 2021.

Another one of Anderson’s goals is to intern with Tesla / Space X own Elon Musk and also begin to send astronauts to Mars. With his studies focused in Aerospace Engineering, Anderson course is definitely on track. Wrapping up his sophomore year at Chattahoochee Technical College, is geared up to make his dreams a reality.

The Marietta native has always been a fast learner. At about four weeks old, Caleb was mimicking his mother’s speech, even though he could form the words yet. At three months, she begin to teach him sign language and within a few months he was able to sign over 250 words. If you think that is impressive, Caleb started reading at 11 months.

“I knew early, and I documented all this on YouTube…because I was like, there’s no way people are going to believe this child is able to do these things,” his mother Claire Anderson told the MDJ.

At a very young age, Caleb has been fascinated with space. “I’ve always been fascinated with space; I’ve always been fascinated with stars. I’ve always loved that there are other planets out there,” he states. “Aerospace engineers are the people who get people to the stars, the moon. And I really want to be one of those people.”

What’s Caleb’s advice for other kids?

“My advice would be not to let people tell you what you can and can’t do. That’s just a reflection of them, because there are things that they can’t do, and they think if they push it on others, nobody can do it,” he said. “You should do what you want, and you should do what you enjoy.”
